Abstract
24,323. Doulton, H. L., and Morris, C. E, Oct. 31. Spigot-and-socket joints.-In joints in which the space between spigot and socket is filled with cement, a collar e is formed on the spigot, leaving a space f between the spigot and socket. When the pipes have been put together, a canvas or similar band g is secured over the joint, preferably by wires h, k, one end of each wire being passed through a loop in the other end and then folded over, a gap in the band through which the cement is poured being left at the top. The inner end of the socket is preferably closed by a joint of the Stanford type such as that described in Specification No. 15,248, A.D. 1885.
