Abstract

22,311. Simonds, S. W. Oct. 9. Grates mechanical stoking.-In an inclined step grate consisting of two series of horizontallyarranged fire-bars, means are provided for reciprocating the two series simultaneously and in opposite directions. Alternate bars a, a<1> are connected to their respective side bearers b, which are mounted on rollers c, and are reciprocated by levers h, f operated by cams e driven from the crushing-rollers in the hopper. Two sets of levers and cams are provided, and the arrangement is such that the two series of bars are reciprocated in opposite directions. Ash-crushing rollers k are rocked by a link m connected to one of the bearers.
