The rod has, beneath each door, two wedge-shaped projections d, d<1> adapted to act on vertical sliding bolts f, f<1>, which are movably placed in the carriage floor, and take into recesses k, k<1> in the carriage door. Two bolts are provided so that the door may be locked as the train moves in either direction.
