14,370. Temperley, J. R., and Alexander, W. June 22. Cranes.-Relates to transporters or travelling cranes and to the combination of weighing-apparatus therewith. The transporter has suspended from it a traversible weighing-machine into which the load may be delivered and from which it may be directly discharged, so as to avoid the loss of time occasioned by the grab &c. waiting until the load is weighed. The transporter girder a is carried on two narrow or tapered piers b, c running on single tracks k, or, in the case of heavy loads or when the girder has a cantilever extension i, upon double tracks l, m. The girder is of inverted triangular section and is formed of two upper booms d braced to a lower boom e. The transporter carriage runs upon the boom e, while the upper booms carry rails upon which run the wheels of a carriage h which is driven by the motor y and from which the weighing- machine is suspended. The weighing - machine, which is of any suitable form, is supported below a hopper n upon the staging o suspended by frames p from the carriage h. Access is had to the weighing-apparatus r, which is preferably enclosed in a casing by a ladder u. The hopper has hinged doors v connected by rods to wheels x controlled by the operator.
