An ordinary nib may be secured in a cranked socket, itself held in the penholder, Fig. 1. In Fig. 2, the object is attained by the disposition of the nib in the holder, and Fig. 3 shows a nib with a concave stem which may be fastened beneath the middle line of the holder. In this case, the nib may be crooked. The nib may be out of line with the stem thereof or with the penholder vertically as well as laterally, or only vertically, or only laterally.
