Abstract

10,004. Hansen, D. A., and Schilbred, C. May 1, 1905, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Preserving food.-Food substances, e.g. shrimps, are preserved by exposing them to carbonic acid at a low temperature, preferably forty to fifty below 0‹ C., for a short time and then keeping them in an atmosphere of the gas. They may be subjected to a cold jet from a cylinder of the liquefied gas in a vessel which is afterwards sealed. [Reference has been directed under Patents Act, 1902, to Specification No. 998, A.D. 1892.]
