Abstract
6109. Michaelis, W., Madaler, F. von, and Neophone, Ltd. March 13. Phonographs &c. -The sound - arm of disk machines is constructed in two parts, of which one a is rigidly fixed to the body of the machine, the other f, which carries the diaphragm and stylus, being bent as shown and sliding within the first, so that the needle moves radially as it follows the spiral track of the record. Rollers k, Fig. 5, are fitted to the part a, and a roller m to the part f. A bracket o serves to support the movable part f when not in use, or when records are being changed. The apparatus may be employed with either an horizontal or a vertical diaphragm.
