Abstract

Sleepers.-A m e t a l reinforcement for concrete sleepers consists of tension bars c, Figs. 1 and 2, passed through apertures in channel or T bars a, b and over pins or wedges c<3>. The pins may be passed through channel bars, as shown in Fig. 3, and, the upper bar may be omitted, and -the lower bar replaced by a folded andcrimped sheet, as shown in Figs. À 5 and 6.
