Abstract

23,347. Rivett, A. Nov. 14. Stays.-Wind and dust shields for motor-cars are constructed so that they may be quickly adjusted in height while the vehicle is in motion. The glazed shield comprises a lower part C fixed to uprights B secured to the dash-board or other part of the vehicle, and an upper part A which is hinged to the top of the part C and may be held in various positions of inclination towards the occupants by the engagement of a spring-pressed bolt D with notches formed in a segment E which is secured to or formed integral with one of the uprights B. To prevent rattling, the notches of the segment E and the edge of the bolt D are made V-shaped, and a spring or friction device may be fixed at the side of the screen opposite the adjusting-device. According to the Provisional Specification, the sliding bolt may engage with holes drilled in the segment E.
