A block c is secured to the underside of the table top or flap or equivalent part, and the leg b is pivoted to the block. A stay d is also pivoted to the leg, the stay being connected to the block by pivoted links f. The stay in the open position engages in a notch e under the table top, and in the closed position the leg, block, and stay fold flat against the underside of the top. The block and stay may be cut out of the thickness of the leg ; or the leg may be in the form of a metal fork, the stay also being in the form of a fork and pivoted inside the leg, and the block being preferably formed of angle-iron.
