20,184. Woodyer, H. S., and Woodyer, W. E. Oct. 5. Locomotive vehicles.-A car having wheels 3 runs upon rails 2 and is driven by a motor 5 through a reversing-gear 7, shaft 8, and gear-wheels 9, 10. The rails may be endless or straight. In the latter case, a catch is situated near each end of the rails to engage levers 11 and reverse the direction of motion. The car carries advertisement plates 12, 13, 14 which are connected together by a system of levers 17, 18, operated from the motor by a cranked shaft 21, so as to be shifted periodically, the plates 13 being always moved in a direction opposite to the plates 12, 14. The device is illuminated internally, preferably electrically, the lights being surrounded by a casing 20, which may be composed of coloured transparent material and is rotated by a shaft 19 operated from the motor; or several similarly-operated lantern casings may be used. The device may be controlled by a clock or other known device which at a fixed hour switches on the light and at another fixed hour shuts it off and stops the car for the night.
