Abstract

14,761. Justice, P. M., [United States Fibre Co.]. July 18. Stoppers of fibrous material of the kind described in Specification No. 8981, A.D. 1903, are made from paper pulp &c., the density of the pulp being sufficiently low to allow the fibres to move when subjected to end pressure. As a consequence, the fibres at the centre part of the stopper are disposed in angular relations to each other, and are not substantially parallel as in the prior Specification above referred to. The fibres at the ends of the stopper lie principally in planes transverse to the axis of the stopper, and the surface of the stopper is calendered.
