Parcelling cigars. -To prevent packed cigars from assuming irregular shapes, strips of metal, cardboard, wood, &c. are placed between the layers while the cigars are being pressed into the boxes. The strips may be placed between the alternate layers only, or one strip only may be inserted in each box, this strip being inserted between the two middle layers. The strips may be allowed to remain in the boxes or may be removed after the pressing process is completed.
