Abstract

9865. Berlin, A. May 10. Cables are constructed with a large self-induction, without greatly increasing their capacity or resistance, by arranging, as shown in Fig. 1, an insulated spiral conductor A with bundles of straight insulated iron or like wires B, or, as shown in Fig. 3, by surrounding a straight conductor A with insulated spirals of iron or like wire B. The bundles of iron or like wires shown in Fig. 1 may be placed wholly inside or wholly outside, instead of being placed, as shown, both inside and outside, and a cable may be formed by combining the two types shown in Figs. 1 and 3 respectively.
