7952. Babbs, A. J. April 14 Leaf-turners.-In a leaf-turner, a series of elastic cords g are attached at their ends to a notch d at the top of the stand, and to a hook h on the bottom rail, and are passed between the leaves and over projections f<x> on a series of slides f, which are drawn out for the purpose until stopped by shoulders f <x x>. The slides are pushed in in turn, whereby the rail b disengages the cord, which then straightens itself and is guided by the curved parts i, b<x>, thereby turning over a leaf. The book is held on the stand by a central wire or cord.
