4958. Abel, C. D., [Akt.-Ges. fiir Anilin- Fabrikation]. March 9. Xanthine derivatives; salicylates.-Double compounds of barium salicylate and 1 : 3 - dimethyl - or 1 : 3 : 7-trimethyl-xanthine are produced by evaporating in vacuo an aqueous solution containing preferably two molecular proportions of the xanthine derivative to one molecular proportion of barium salicylate. The barium salicylate may be produced in the liquid. The compounds are of the type Ba(C7H5O3)2À(RÀC7H8N4O2)2, where R equals H or CH3. They are colourless powders easily soluble in water.
