Abstract

29,631. Thornton, J. E. Dec. 31. Change-boxes; roller slides; envelopes. - In a magazine film pack, the films B are held in the pleated folds of a wrapper A, Fig. 24. The wrapper may be made in slotted portions, the perforations x-x leaving tags a<7> with indicating-marks, and may either have alternate exposure openings, Fig. 12, or be opaque throughout its length. In the former case, the back is placed in the front part of the folding holder C, Fig. 2, and the films after exposure are drawn over the roller shown into the rear part while the wrapper is drawn through a light-tight slit at the bottom. Where a continuously opaque wrapper is used, the pack is introduced into the rear part, as in Fig. 9, and the films drawn over into position in front of the exposure opening c<3> as required. In this case, the films themselves also have a non-actinic backing. The exit slit for the wrapper may be situated at different parts of the holder, and different combinations of rollers D, d are used for deviating the film from the path of the wrapper. The holder C is formed from a single piece of cardboard, and fits into a plain envelope cover, which is packed in an outer case. This case is removed when the holder is used in the camera. If necessary, the films are directly attached to the wrapper by slits or tags a<2>, Fig. 14, modified devices for which are illustrated in the Specification. A spring partition or cord may be used in connection with the holder C to press the unexposed film forward into the focussing-plane. Or, alternately, the holder C itself may be expansible and compressible, and the spring adapted in the adapter or in the camera. In addition to the folds of the wrapper, a front sliding shutter A<2> may be used,
