14,949. Rudge-Whitworth, Ltd., and Pugh, J. V. July 4. Packing velocipedes.-In packing bicycles in crates, the handle-bars are suspended separately, the pedals are detached and re-attached in reversed positions, and cylindrical plugs c, Fig. 1, pass through the holes b into the hollow steering- columns. The L-pin is turned through half a revolution, its top fitting into a hole b<2> in the top strip a of the crate, or in a block fixed to it, the saddle being turned to be in a vertical plane, and the nuts on the ends of the wheel spindles fit into holes in the side strips a<2> or in blocks fixed to them. The gear case is protected by a strip a<3>. In the modification shown in Fig. 9, the steering- wheel and the saddle are suspended separately.
