Abstract

12,632. Wohle, S. June 3. Cleansing-compositions.-A mucilaginous liquid, such as a decoction of linseed, is mixed with a fat or fatty oil, such as castor oil, and with saponin, or a decoction of horse chestnuts, acacias, or areca nuts, which contain saponin. To this mixture is added hydrogen peroxide, or materials producing it, such as sodium peroxide and a vegetable acid, such as acetic acid or acid salt, such as salts of lemon. For fine or mixed wools, a little sodium carbonate may be added to the horse chestnuts. For coarse wools, more saponin is required than can be got from horse chestnuts. By the use of this detergent, the wool grease is removed without saponification, so that it can be recovered, the wool is made softer than by the older methods, and the yolk is left in the wool. The inventions contained in Specification No. 10, A.D. 1864, and No. 1978, A.D. 1896, are disclaimed.
