Feeding-appliances for animals; cages, pens, and the like.-A tapering seed or food receptacle for birds, pigeons, poultry, or animals is provided with a glass front, and with a feeding-hole at the back, covered by a piece of metal or other material, so that the seed may be placed above it, and run down at either side, a husk or waste receptacle with an inside flange or hinged piece also being furnished. The hopper A, Fig. 1, of the seed receptacle may form one compartment or may be divided by a partition A'. The hinged lid B may be kept closed by a spring. One or more feeding- holes E are surrounded by covers D, provided with openings F. The glass plate C is kept in position by the flanges L, the cover D, and a plate G. The plate G is preferably made of perforated zinc or copper to act as a screen for sifting the seeds, the refuse being removed through an opening H. The hopper is provided with hooks J to fasten it to a cage or pen, and with a leg M to hold it upright when necessary. Fig. 3 represents a section through the husk receptacle, showing the inside flange R. The appliance may be hooked to the hopper or to the cage, and is provided with a fixed or movable perch 0.
