Abstract

2019. Francis, H. Jan. 27. Loom let-off motions.-The weight of the warp beam is utilized to apply frictional resistance to the rotation of the beam, so that as the warp is drawn off the drag is automatically relieved. The shaft C of the warp beam C<1> rotates in bearings B on brackets A, which are mounted to slide vertically on the loom frame. The lower end of each bracket A is slotted at G to rest on a pivoted weight lever H, to which both ends of the usual chain or rope K are attached. Small weights may be mounted on the levers H. If the chains or ropes should break, the fall of the brackets A is limited by stopper brackets J which guide the extremities A<1> of the brackets A. In a modified arrangement, Fig. 3, the sliding bracket A is loosely mounted on the lever H, and one end of the drag rope K is fixed to a bracket N. while its other end is tied to a hook on the lever H.
