25,459. Richard, E. Nov. 21. AÙrating liquids; siphon bottles.-An oscillating table, whereon are supported specially-constructed jars, is used in aÙrating wines, and thereby obtaining champagne. The table B, Fig. 2, is carried by arms E and receives an oscillatory motion from a crank F. The jars J are charged with carbonic acid by means of the pipes N, M, O, in communication with the cylinder P. Each of the jars, Fig. 3, consists of a steel casing A<1> and a glass receiver I' separated by cork pads H<1>, and is provided with screw caps B<1>, C<1>, and a tap K in communication with the pipes F<1>, G<1>. The caps are removed during the charging operation and replaced by a cap having only one tube N, Fig. 4, which is arranged so as to communicate with the tube F<1>. A cap having two ways is used for discharging purposes, so that a further quantity of gas may be introduced through the pipe G<1>. A suitable discharging - apparatus is described in Specification No. 25,460, A.D. 1903, [Abridgment Class Registering &c.].
