Abstract

23,123. Hall, J., and Hopkins, W. Oct. 26. Window blinds.-The cord of a roller blind is wound upon a sheave which is placed in a supporting bracket instead of being fixed on the roller. The sheave b, Fig. 1, is carried by a pin a which may be secured to a metal cap c to fit on the roller d or attached to the roller directly. A hole b<1> is formed in the sheave to enable the cord to be affixed. The pin is supported by a bracket which is provided with a pair of cheeks e to enclose the sheave and act as cord guides. The outer end of the pin rests in a slot in the outer cheek and carries the weight, the diameter of the end next the cap being reduced and not resting on the inner cheek. When the bracket is used with its back part g in a vertical position, the slots to receive the pin are vertical. If the back part g, Fig. 7, is used in a horizontal position, the slots f are inclined and the pin is received in vertical recesses f<1>. A ring guide h, Fig. 1, and a stiffening - piece may be fitted between the cheeks. The fittings may be used in connection with blind furniture of various types or patterns.
