Exercising-apparatus.-A gymnastic apparatus or exerciser is shown in Fig. 1, and consists of two parallel elastic cords a, b passing over pulleys in the manner shown. A tension device f of an ordinary pattern is placed between the cords a, b, and connected to their ends by a hook h. This device may be put of action. If desired, a stirrup may be attached to the end h of the cords, the tension device f being preferably placed out of action. Fig. 5 shows a modification. A cord passes over pulleys attached to a centre piece w, which is connected to a fixed support in the manner shown. The cords may be arranged in a variety of ways according to the exercise to be performed.
