9849. Fielding, A. May 1. Embossing woven fabrics. Embossed or like effects are rendered permanent by treating the fabrics with viscose solution either before or after or both before and after the embossing operation. The viscose is subsequently fixed by steaming or ageing, or this may be done by the heat of the embossing-rollers. The fabrics may have a preliminary treatment with albumen or gum &c. Sateens and fine lustred goods, linenette, windowblind material, book cloth, and leather cloth may be treated by the above process.
