Gripping Jigs, Holding Jigs, And Positioning Jigs
(AREA)
Abstract
8462. Long, J. R. April 14. Vices.-The bearing, in which the jaws of a bench vice may be rotated, is in two parts B, B<1>, Fig. 2, the lower ends of which are pressed outwards and locked in the annular base A, when anything is gripped in the vice. A cap E, in contact with the bearing B and loosely connected by screws or otherwise to the jaw C, carries the sleeve nut H. The cap g prevents the screw G from being run out of the nut H, and the collar L and bush J cause the jaw to move with the screw.
