Abstract
28,551. Lake, H. H., [Stone, J. S.]. Dec. 24. Telegraphs.-Oscillators or radiators of definite period for use in systems of wireless telegraphy are constructed as shown in the Figure. A central core c of copper wire is insulated and surrounded by a circumferentiallycontinuous but longitudinally - discontinuous paramagnetic sheath M, covered with insulation i<1>. A conducting-sphere s and a ground connection G complete the oscillator. The paramagnetic sheath may consist of iron wire wound on the copper conductor in the manner in which pianoforte strings are loaded, or the insulating coat may be impregnated with iron dust &c.
