Abstract

8775. Ellis, T. W. April 15. Gas and like engines, igniting in. In order to test the igniting-circuit, it may be switched from the sparking-plug Z in the cylinder to an earth circuit containing a spark gap Q, R. To change the circuit the spring blade H is forced away from the conductor J and pressed on to a stud M by a press-button which extends through the top of the case in which the apparatus is enclosed. The case has a glass front through which the spark is viewed. The apparatus is particularly applicable to motorcar engines.
