Abstract

7530. Bradbury, E. March 29. Refrigerators.-The freezing-tanks a may be provided with hooks or rollers d so as to be run on rails c within the refrigerating-chamber b, in order to equalize the temperature within the chamber. From the bottoms of the tanks are suspended trays e to receive drippings from the tanks of condensed vapour. The tanks, which are preferably hopper-shaped to retain the solid freezing-substance at the top, may be fitted with fired or movable tubes f, to permit of the withdrawal of the liquid at the bottom of the tanks, by siphons g, an aperture through which the siphon passes, and which may be also used for charging the tank or for inserting food into the refrigerating-chamber, being provided in the lid of the chamber. In the case of large chambers, folding asbestos &c. partitions may be used. To prevent the heating of the chamber by atmospheric air, sliding lids may be used under the ordinary lid.
