23,576. Smith, G. Nov. 21. Handles.-Relates to handles for boxes, furniture, &c. An L or T-shaped bracket, pierced with holes 1, 2 or formed with eyes to receive the handle pivot, has one of its limbs passed through a hole in the fixing-plate. The fixing-screw passes through a hole in the bracket or knuckle, and also through a hole in the fixing-plate. The strain is thus taken off the plate, which may be of thin metal. The part of the bracket at the back of the plate may lie in a recess in the plate, or is let into the wood. The Provisional Specification states that a plate may have the bottom edge corresponding to the top edge of another, so that plates may be cut out of a blank without waste.
