16,313. Goddon, G. A. Aug. 14. Ear appliances.-An artificial ear-drum is formed of a disc of thin woven silk or cotton, membranous tissue, &c. A cord is attached centrally to the disc, both cord and disc being coated with a mixture of wax and oil. The disc is inserted in the ear by means of a tube, as shown in Fig. 4, the cord being left in the ear after the removal of the tube.
