Signals, time-alarm.-A conducting-ring b is mounted on an insulating-board &c. on the dial of the controlling-clock a, and is connected to one of the poles of the battery m, the other pole of which is connected by separate leads s to the alarm bells p in the various rooms &c. A number of contacts I, II, III, &c. are arranged around the dial at the hours or at other desired intervals, and are separately connected to a similar number of conducting bars 1, 2, 3, &c. on the switchboard L. Connection between the ring b and the contacts I, II, &c. is effected by means of switches d actuated by a tappet k on the hour-hand h. The switches may each consist, as shown in Fig. 2, of a lever pivoted at e, and provided with electrically-connected blocks f, g adapted to make contact with the ring b and the corresponding time contact. The return lead t from each bell is provided with a switch q by means of which the alarm can be stopped by the occupant of the room &c., and preferably also includes one of the wires n of the ordinary housebell system n, o, n<1>, although a separate wire may be employed, if desired. Each return lead terminates in a plug r, which, in setting the apparatus, is inserted in the socket in the bar 1, 2, &c. corresponding with the time at which the alarm is to be given. The switchboard may be of any other suitable form.
