Cameras; shutters; change-boxes.-Relates to a hand camera made of sheet metal, and fitted with a change-box and shutter for time or instantaneous exposures. The camera is shown in section in Fig. 3. The body a is made by bending a sheet of metal into suitable shape and fastening the ends by tongues to a base-plate. The sheaths of the plates m are fitted with eyes which slide on staples k fixed to the base-plate. Two view-finders f at right-angles, of the usual construction, are fitted in a front compartment of the camera, so that the fittings need not be light-tight. The shutter consists of a blade o pivoted at o<2>, Fig. 16. For time exposures, the outer end of the lever t is lifted so that the inner end q<1> catches on the projection o<4> and holds the shutter open. For instantaneous exposures, the outer end of the lever t is depressed as in Fig. 16; a second lever r is carried with the lever t over the inclined surface of the projection o<4>, then automatically disengaged, and suddenly pulled back by the spring v. The inner end of r in its descent catches on the projection o<4>, and opens the shutter, and then slips off the projection o<4>, and allows the shutter to close. Modifications in details are described.
