Abstract
24,175. Dickinson, F. W. Dec. 5. Motor road vehicles.-Relates to the mounting or supporting of the motors in electrically-propelled vehicles. As shown in plan in Fig. 4, the yoke or framework is designed to carry two motors with their shafts in line. The yoke is composed of bars B, to which are secured the field magnets and coils C, T, a central cross-bar G, two side cross-bars K, and end bridges or brackets M. The motor shafts I are carried in bearings in the cross-bars G, K, and drive through toothed gear R, Q, short shafts 0 mounted in bearings in the bridges M and furnished with side chain wheels P. The yokes are attached to the vehicle body by suitable prolongations or by hangers.
