Abstract

21,409. Kapralik, S. Oct. 26. Self-closing valves.-The fluid-way f of a selfclosing valve passes through the casing b. It is closed at the inlet side by the conical valve g, and also, at an intermediate point, by the valve spindle a. The valve spindle is formed with a grooved, so that, when the valve is pushed in, the inlet end of the fluid-way is opened and the groove d allows the fluid to pass to the outlet e. The valve may be pressed on to its seat by the fluid pressure or by a spring.
