Axle-boxes; axles; corves; tramcars; wheels. - Relates to wheels and axles for corves, tramcars, and other vehicles, Specification No. 10,118, A.D. 1889, being referred to, and a section through the axle is shown in Fig. 2. The axlebox c screws into the hub b, of which the outer end b<1> is closed except for a lubricating-aperture b<2>. The axlebox has an internally - coned surface between which and the axle d conical rollers e are held in position by the flange f. The end of the axle bears against a projection g through which the openings g<1> allow the oil to pass. Unscrewing of the axle-box c is prevented by means of a setscrew h, and, in a modification, the conical rollers are replaced by cylindrical rollers.
