10,386. Ducat, W. M. May 17. Sewage filters.-Relates to aÙrobic filter beds of the kind described in Specification No. 654, A.D. 1897, for use in purifying sewage and other foul waters. The filter bed proper A, with its perforated wall s a and inclined discharging- culverts J, is enclosed by double walls C and a roof G formed of suitable n o n - conducting materials. The form of roof preferred comprises a series of trusses F supporting an inner roof or covering H, and an outer roof G, the space between the two being as airtight as possible. Air may be admitted to the filter bed through pipes K, culverts J, and side passages j<1> in the culverts, the air being warmed by contact with the outflowing sewage &c. Air shafts L serve to conduct away the air which has passed through the filter bed.
