1208. Sterza, A. Jan. 18. Electric railways and tramways on the conduit system. Conduits for the conductors of electric railways &c. are formed of lengths of rail W having a base w, attached to sleepers by hooks r, and having attached at w<1> a chambered portion W<1> forming with the part W a longitudinal rift or channel. The part W<1> contains on its inner surface a recessed portion m, n, g, in which insulating- blocks Q are placed. Clip hangers R<1> are inserted in the blocks Q, and support the conductor P. The collector H, S depends from the car, and carries a contact-brush K. The base w is divided into two channels p, q by a ridge C, and is provided with drainage openings B, D. In a modified form, where the conduit rail is not used as a part of the permanent way, only one channel p is formed in the base.
