Abstract
18,854. Evans, A. F. Sept. 3. Gas and like engines, igniting in. One electric terminal Y is secured in the cylinder cover X by nuts a, b and insulated by packing d. The other is a lever W on a spindle R, and is pressed against Y by an eccentric-rod G moving in a guide pivoted at H and carrying an adjustable tappet I which engages a projection P turning freely on the spindle R and connected to a lug O<1> fixed on it by a spring f. The projection P is suddenly released as the tappet passes it, and contact is broken between the parts W, Y. The sleeve carrying the spindle R passes through the cylinder jacket.
