Cigarettes.-Cigarette papers are perforated with the maker's initials &c. near one end, and a stiffening-piece of coloured paper, tobacco leaf, &c. is pasted along its edge B<1>, Fig. 4, so as to strengthen the cigarette internally and form a background for the perforation. In the modification shown in Fig. 5, a freely-sliding mouthpiece B, coloured or otherwise, is perforated with the maker's initials and can be slipped up to one end, or slightly be) ond it, for use.
