Abstract
597. Hargreaves, H. Jan. 8. Hot-plates; boilers and water-heaters; casings and linings.-An appliance for drying and airing clothes, and heating irons, plates, dishes, and the like, is shown in section in Fig. 2, and consists of a rectangular perforated casing F provided with a burner N and mounted upon a suitable stand B<1>. The casing is covered with asbestos cloth, and the clothes are laid upon this, so that they may be dried by the hot gases circulating in the chamber. Plates and dishes may be placed in suitable racks W on the outside, while irons are carried in a support U directly over the burner. An auxiliary burner may be provided outside the casing and used for heating water.
