30,356. Payart, E. Dec. 22. Luggage holders; hand-trucks.-Relates to stands for holding bicycles in or on road vehicles &c. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, the base a, formed of corrugated metal or wood with longitudinal grooves, has the ends a<1>, a' pivoted thereto. One of the ends a<1> consists of a series of vertical bars between which the front wheels of the bicycles are placed. The other frame a<2> may be similar to a<1>, or formed of corrugated metal. In the latter case it is arranged to fold down to allow the bicycles to be run into place. Adjustable stays b serve to fix the ends. The stand may be fitted with wheels as at c. In another arrangement, the frame is arranged to receive the bicycles on end, hinged cross-pieces being arranged to maintain them in position. Fig. 4 shows a rack for holding bicycles on end, the wheels passing between the bars a*. Corrugated metal may be used instead of bars. The rack may be rigid or folding. When mounted on wheels, the stands serve for the transport of bicycles from place to place. When made for the outside of a vehicle, the base is suitably curved.
