Abstract
20,125. Mossop, J., and Garland, E. B., [trading as Mossop & Garland]. Sept. 1. Tanning.-After the usual treatment with lime the hides are subjected to the action of carbonicacid gas under pressure, being placed for the purpose in a rotating-drum. After removal of the lime &c. in this way the hides are transferred to a drum containing strong tanning-liquor, and are kept in motion, carbonic-acid gas being applied under pressure or otherwise.
