The tube S, which leads to the tyre, is screw-threaded to receive the valve seat W. Down the centre of the valve seat passes a hole w<3> having a conical end to receive the conical valve V. The valve is prevented from dropping out of position during inflation by the screwed plug X which has two grooves x to allow of the passage of air.
