Moulding ores and slags.-Granular and pulverulent iron ores and slags or other residues containing iron are prepared for treatment in a blast furnace for extracting the iron by mixing them with moistened calcium oxide, or with calcium hydroxide, and pressing them in suitable moulds in a heating- chamber containing water in receptacles to produce a moist atmosphere. After remaining for a period of from 4 to 6 days in this chamber, the blocks are ready for the blast furnace.
