189,044. Pugh, Ltd., C. H., and Bull, G. F. March 10, 1922. Lawn-mowers.-The concave grass-directing plate 1 of a lawn-mower is mounted upon a rigid skeleton framework 2 which is secured bv bolts to the main frame of the machine. The plate 1 rests upon two seatings 10 behind a rib 8 extending across the frame 2. The rib is cut away in front of the seatings 10 and is deeper than the distance from the top to the bottom of the seatings so that any dirt accumulating on the rib or the seatings is pushed away when the plate is fitted in position. A pair of hook-like members 12 is secured to the upper edge of the plate, these members being provided with slotted eyes 16 adapted to engage shoulders 17 on wing-nuts 18 secured on bolts 14. The rear parts of the members 12 are formed as hooks to engage a rib 13 on the frame 2. The ledger blade 7 is secured on the bottom of the skeleton frame. When the plate 1 is removed the grass is thrown to the rear of the machine through the skeleton frame.
