Abstract

185,896. Zarembinski, T. W. July 6, 1921. Pencil - holders. - In a pencil-holder having a leadtube 4 provided with a slide 5 co-operating with a revoluble threaded tube 3, the tubes being movable longitudinally in a casing 2 to retract the lead 7 when out of use, the lead-tube normally projects beyond the nose 1 of the casing and supports the entire lead, thereby enabling the lead to be used up. The lead-tube is splined to the casing, preferably by means of a collar 9 having a lug 9<a> engaging the slot 12 through which passes a lug 5<a> on the slide. The tubes are retained in the normal or retracted position by means of a spring- band 8 arranged between the end of the tube 3, and a disc 10 on the lead-tube. The tube 3 abuts on a disc 11 on the lead-tube and is provided with a screw-cap 6 which is removed to permit insertion of a lead.
