Abstract
184,363. Baker &. Sons, Ltd., F., and Baker, F. July 29, 1921. Spinning-tackle.-An artificial bait is provided with hinged spinning vanes adapted to fold in a forward direction when the bait is seized by a fish but prevented by stops from folding rearwards past their spinning position. In one form, the bait comprises a hollow open-ended flat-sided metal body 1 formed in longitudinal halves secured together, a line 2, provided with hooks 3, passing through it. The vanes 5 are formed with a sleeve 6, adapted to fit within a vertical slot in the side of the body, a wire 7 passing through the sleeve and through holes in the body, the ends of the wire being bent to fit within recesses 8 in the body. The ends of the wire may be connected together, or each end of one wire may be connected to the respective end of the other wire. A flat edge 9 on the vane acts as a stop, or a stop may be provided on the body. In a second form, the vanes may be hinged to the body by means of a pin passing through eyes on the vane and body. The metal body 1 may be formed in a single piece.
