Abstract
183,548. Davison, J. W., and Bramwell, H. April 21, 1921. Rotary batch-mixers; apparatus mounted on wheels. - In a concrete-mixing machine more especially intended for arching in the under. ground roadways of collieries and adapted to deliver at a variable elevation the concrete ingredients are fed into the rotary mixing-drum b by a tiltable skip d travelling upon guides f supported by the wheeled frame a, and the concrete is discharged by the hand-operated swinging spout h into a skip i which travels upon a pivotally-mounted jib and discharges upon platforms i<1>, i<2>. The sidps d, j are operated by ropes secured to winches g', q<2>, Fig. 3, loosely mounted upon the shaft p driven through gearing from the motor c, which also drives the drum. The winches are held by friction clutches p<1>, p <2> so as to rotate with the shaft. The jib may be raised and lowered by ropes coiled upon a barrel which is rotated by pawl and ratchet mechanism. The skips, winches, &c. are operated by means of levers arranged on one. side only of the machine. The mixing-drum is supplied with water from a tank m. In a modification, the barrel is rotated by a worm operated by a hand-lever.
