Electrical systems, non-automatic.-For controlling railway traffic by train-carried devices, the production of a danger indication by which is dependent upon the de-energization of apparatus on the train, several independent circuits are provided for energizing the track rails or auxiliary conductors so that the train apparatus is controlled in a normal manner so long as any one of the said circuits remains intact. The arrangement of apparatus particularly described for a single track carrying traffic in two directions comprises a hand-operated switch which is set in accordance with the required direction of traffic and supplies testing current to the insulated rail sections concerned, and if all is in order, is then moved further to supply, in conjunction with a relay, current from three separate sources to the two track rails and an auxiliary conductor. Currents of different frequency for different directions of traffic are supplied from separate generators.
